Eligibility and Media:  All submitted work must be original, represent teapots, either functional or sculptural, and be completed within the last three years. This exhibit is open to all artists who work in clay. Entry fee actives one-year membership to CAMEO. Each piece must be at least 60% fired clay, weigh no more than 25 lbs and be no larger than 24” in any direction.  

Prizes:  All accepted entries will be eligible for 1st place “Purchase Award” and 2nd Place “Memorial Award”.
The 2019 ”Memorial Award” will be given in honor of Karen Karnes.  Cash Awards are: $1,000 for 1st place “Purchase Award” and $500 for 2nd place “Memorial Award”. Both winning teapots will be added to CAMEO’s permanent museum collection.

The winning artists will receive the award amount even if the winning teapot is priced higher.  The winning artists are paid the full amount of the award.

Digital Images:  JPEG format images (at least 300 dpi) will be accepted for review.  Please do not send other graphics formats.

Enter one image per work unless more than one view is necessary for detail work.  There is a maximum of two images per piece.    By entering “Texas Teapot Tournament” and submitting images, each artist gives CAMEO permission to use the submitted CD or digital images for publicity purposes for “Texas Teapot Tournament”.   Any work that differs appreciably from the submitted images will be rejected at the discretion of the reviewing committee.

Sales:  All pieces must be for sale. The commission rate is 50%. All entries must quote retail price.  By entering “Texas Teapot Tournament” and submitting images, each artist gives the organizers permission to use their work for publicity purposes.

Shipping: Accepted work may be hand delivered (appointment required) or shipped (prepaid) to arrive between December 19 – 22. Pack items tightly and double box to avoid breakage. Ship all items with prepaid return shipping. Items without prepaid shipping will not be returned. Hand delivered work not picked up by February 15, 2019 will become property of CAMEO. Overseas entrants should contact CAMEO prior to shipping regarding insurance/customs. Kindly attach identification labels to your body of work. We suggest adhering teapot images on the exterior of each box.  Overseas entrants should contact CAMEO prior to shipping regarding insurance/customs.  ATTN- UK POTTERS   You may pay fees in pounds sterling. $45 USD entry fee grants artist membership to CAMEO, supporting clay education via Emerging Artists and Collector’s Collection shows.  International entries are encouraged. Payments in USD only. Online credit card payments accepted via PAYPAL.

Pieces should be double-boxed, labeled as FRAGILE and HANDLE WITH CARE: POTTERY stickers.

Insurance while in transit is the artist’s responsibility.  Please ship all items with prepaid return shipping.  Items without prepaid shipping will not be returned.   Do not send stamps as return shipping. Hand delivered work not picked up by January 31, 2018  will become property of CAMEO.

Rules:  All works must remain for the duration of the show.  Submission of the entry application signifies the artist’s understanding and acceptance of the rules and conditions of the show.
